Job Description

NeuroRestorative, a member of the Sevita family, is a leading provider of rehabilitation services dedicated to enhancing the lives of people of all ages who face brain, spinal cord, and medically complex injuries, illnesses, and other challenges. With facilities located in various community-based settings, NeuroRestorative offers a comprehensive range of programs that include vocational and therapy services, day treatments, and specialized care programs tailored for infants, children, adolescents, military service members, and veterans. This organization operates with a compassionate mission to help individuals achieve meaningful independence and improve their quality of life through personalized, high-quality rehabilitation care and support.

The role of Dietary and Food Cook at NeuroRestorative is an essential position in the organization, aimed at ensuring nutritious and well-prepared meals are provided to individuals receiving care. This full-time role, based in San Dimas, CA, offers an opportunity to work in a 15-bed NeuroRestorative facility located on Puente Street, which is set in an in-patient residential sub-acute physical rehabilitation environment with low patient ratios. The position entails 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm with two hours of overtime pay each shift, compensating at $19.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience.

As a Dietary and Food Cook, you will play a vital part in supporting the well-being and rehabilitation of patients by conscientiously preparing meals that meet health standards and individual dietary needs. Beyond cooking, the role involves maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to ensure compliance with health regulations and providing a safe, pleasant environment for both patients and staff. You will be responsible for coordinating menus, purchasing groceries and kitchen supplies, preparing and cooking foods, reviewing work orders for food preparation, seasoning and carving meats, and managing the sanitary upkeep of kitchen and storage facilities. This position demands an acute attention to detail and a compassionate approach, recognizing the importance of nutrition in the healing and recovery process and aligning with NeuroRestorative’s commitment to excellent care.

This opportunity serves as a great starting point for those interested in growing their career within NeuroRestorative and the larger Sevita organization. The company offers a supportive work environment that values dedication and nurtures professional advancement through a myriad of career options across its programs and services. Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, life insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSA/HSA), and more. NeuroRestorative actively encourages team members to thrive both professionally and personally while making a positive impact daily. The company also promotes an inclusive workplace culture that celebrates diversity and equal opportunity.
