Job Description

NeuroRestorative, a key member of the Sevita family, specializes in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services tailored to individuals of all ages who face brain, spinal cord, and medically complex injuries, illnesses, and other related challenges. With various locations and community-based settings, NeuroRestorative offers an array of programs designed to promote recovery and enhance quality of life. These include vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, as well as Military Service Members and Veterans. This organization is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, individualized care that fosters growth, independence, and improved daily functioning for those it serves.

Established as a leader in the specialized health care domain, NeuroRestorative operates within an in-patient residential environment that supports sub-acute physical rehabilitation. Their facilities, such as the 15-bed location in La Mesa, CA, maintain low patient ratios to ensure personalized attention and high-quality care. The company’s vision is anchored in a mission to actively improve the lives of its clients through effective treatment and support systems while providing a positive and collaborative work environment for its staff.

The Dietary and Food Cook role at NeuroRestorative is a pivotal position that directly supports the organization’s mission by ensuring that nutritious and well-prepared meals are consistently delivered to individuals receiving care. This full-time position offers 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime pay. It is an ideal entry point for individuals who have culinary skills and a passion for helping others, as it provides substantial career growth opportunities within the organization. The role involves a blend of culinary expertise, cleanliness maintenance, and kitchen supervision, requiring a dedicated and detail-oriented professional.

As a Dietary and Food Cook, you will be responsible for coordinating menus, preparing and seasoning food, ensuring sanitation standards are met, purchasing kitchen supplies, and overseeing kitchen activities. The position entails maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment by following strict health standards and safety protocols to minimize infection risks. Candidates must possess a current Food Handler’s Certificate and a valid driver’s license in good standing to fulfill the purchasing and supply management duties efficiently.

NeuroRestorative values a compassionate, responsible attitude and acute attention to detail in its employees, recognizing the essential role these qualities play in delivering high-quality care. The company offers a full benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Staff can also take advantage of on-demand pay options, paid time off, holiday pay, and the stability of working with a nationwide network that supports professional growth and career advancement.

Joining NeuroRestorative means becoming part of a mission-driven team that not only prioritizes the well-being of patients but also fosters a supportive work culture. Employees benefit from rewarding work that directly impacts the lives of those served, a reliable compensation package, and extensive opportunities for further development within Sevita’s expansive family of services.
