The Server role at Harmony is a vital part of the dining service team. This position is responsible for courteously serving meals to residents and guests, maintaining cleanliness, and resetting the dining area between meal services. Servers at Harmony assist residents in placing their orders from the menu and ensure prompt and polite beverage service including water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee or tea. The role involves attentive dining room maintenance such as refilling salt, pepper, and sugar bowls before and after meals, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming both the kitchen and dining areas. Additionally, the Server plays an important role in reporting any broken equipment or tableware to supervisors, contributing to the safety and functionality of the dining environment.
This position requires a good understanding of sit-down service techniques, proper serving etiquette, as well as a basic knowledge of food preparation such as salads and desserts. Servers are also expected to be familiar with proper food storage and labeling guidelines, ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The role includes assisting with tray service and requires sensitivity to the unique needs of residents, including those with mobility challenges and memory impairments, enhancing the overall meal experience with personalized care.

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food service or hospitality is beneficial

Job Duties
- Serve resident and guest meals courteously
- assist residents in placing orders from the menu
