Job Description
The Crescent is a distinguished part of Wallick Senior Living, an esteemed leader in senior care with over three decades of experience in developing, building, and managing independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities. Wallick Senior Living has earned a reputation for providing exceptional, mission-driven care that opens doors to homes, opportunity, and hope for seniors. Their commitment to creating a warm, supportive environment ensures that residents experience a true sense of belonging and comfort every day. The organization prides itself on fostering a culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, reflecting their mission to make a meaningful impact on the lives of senior residents.
Joining The Crescent as a server offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the well-being and happiness of the community's senior residents. The role is centered on providing excellent dining services, ensuring that each meal is delivered with care, respect, and professionalism following proper table etiquette. This position offers competitive pay at $14 per hour with Pay on Demand, allowing employees to access their earnings as they accumulate. Apart from monetary benefits, Wallick Senior Living supports its team members through a comprehensive benefits package, including multiple health insurance options, dental and vision coverage effective within two weeks of employment, holiday pay, paid time off, and up to eight weeks of paid parental leave. Employees also enjoy a free meal during their shifts, reinforcing the company's commitment to employee well-being.
In this role, servers are responsible for managing meal requests during service, ensuring timely and courteous delivery to residents. Preparing and cleaning the dining room before and after meals is a critical part of the duties, maintaining a clean and pleasant environment. The server also helps maintain beverage stations, including the juice bar, coffee, and iced tea, ensuring these are well stocked and available. Keeping proper utensils, cups, and glasses ready and organized is essential to providing a seamless dining experience. Additional related responsibilities that help to enhance the overall dining atmosphere are also part of the role.
Ideal candidates are those who bring experience in waiting or serving, although this is preferred rather than mandatory. Exceptional customer service skills, flexibility, compassion, and dependability are essential traits. A focus on delivering a memorable dining experience to each resident is paramount, alongside the ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and residents alike. While prior experience in an Assisted Living or Memory Care Community is advantageous, all enthusiastic applicants are encouraged to apply.
Wallick Senior Living also offers its employees the chance to become part owners through their Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), fostering a sense of partnership and investment in the company’s success. Additional benefits such as gym memberships or fitness equipment reimbursement, company-paid life and long-term disability insurance, voluntary life, short-term disability, accident and critical illness coverage, 401(k) with a 3.5% company match, tuition reimbursement, and pet insurance provide a holistic support system for team members.
Working at Wallick means joining a dedicated community where values like care, character, and collaboration are not just words but guiding principles that shape the workplace culture. Candidates must be prepared to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to positively influence the daily lives of seniors while advancing your career within a mission-driven company that truly values its employees.
