The Server role at Wallick Senior Living is integral to creating a welcoming dining experience for seniors by ensuring all meals are prepared, served, and maintained with the highest quality and safety standards. Servers will be responsible for keeping kitchen equipment and preparation areas clean and organized, adhering to scheduled cooking plans, and maintaining proper food temperatures and taste for quality assurance. This position requires following portion control guidelines to ensure efficient use of supplies, proficiently managing leftover perishables to minimize waste, and assisting with various kitchen duties as required, making it a dynamic and interactive role. The server must also have strong communication skills to interact with coworkers, residents, and their families with professionalism and empathy. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making supporting the daily needs of the department.   • strong communication skills comfortable interacting with coworkers residents and family members
  • ability to respond professionally to questions or concerns from both inside and outside the organization
  • basic proficiency with microsoft office word excel outlook
  • solid math skills to handle measurements portioning and basic calculations
  • able to make routine decisions that support the day-to-day needs of the department

Job Duties

  • keep all kitchen equipment and prep and serving areas clean and organized
  • plan and follow a cooking schedule to ensure meals are ready on time
  • maintain food quality and safety by regularly checking temperatures and tasting dishes
  • set up food on steam tables and restock as needed during service
  • follow portion control guidelines during meal prep and serving
  • check and properly use leftover perishables from the fridge and freezer to minimize waste
  • jump in and help with other kitchen duties as needed
