The Server role at Harmony is essential in maintaining the high standards of hospitality and resident care within the dining services department. The position involves courteously serving meals to residents and guests, ensuring that everyone receives attentive and respectful service. The Server assists residents with menu choices, providing beverage service and ensuring that dining areas are clean, well-organized, and properly set up before and after each meal. They play a vital role in supporting the residents' dining experience by attending to special needs related to mobility and memory impairments and working collaboratively with other team members to deliver seamless service. This role demands an individual who is detail-oriented, physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods, and able to lift and carry moderate weights frequently.

Servers at Harmony must adhere to confidentiality policies regarding resident information and participate in regular staff training and meetings. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the continuous care environment. Job Requirements

  • must wear clean designated uniform and maintain good personal hygiene

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or hospitality is an advantage
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • basic understanding of food handling and safety

  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work well with team members

Job Duties

  • Serve resident and guest meals courteously
  • assist residents with menu orders
  • provide beverage service including water, iced tea, juices, milk, coffee, and tea
  • refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls before and after meals
  • report broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
  • understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques
  • maintain knowledge of food preparation and proper food storage and labeling
  • clean dining room and kitchen including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • attend required in-services and staff meetings
  • assist with tray service
  • follow confidentiality policies
  • interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors
