Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by a reputable care facility dedicated to providing exceptional culinary and dietary services within a supportive and respectful environment. The facility is committed to ensuring high standards of nutrition and meal service tailored specifically for elderly residents, including those with special dietary needs such as dementia. As an employer, it prioritizes inclusivity, equal opportunity, and compliance with all applicable labor and disability laws, ensuring a safe and accommodating workplace for all team members. The establishment fosters a culture of professionalism and sensitivity, prioritizing the dignity and wellness of both its residents and staff.

The Dietary Aide plays a pivotal role in supporting the Culinary Services Coordinator and Cook by maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and aiding in the preparation and delivery of meals. This part-time position requires not only the physical ability to handle the demands of the kitchen environment but also a great deal of tact, sensitivity, and professionalism to ensure the highest standard of service delivery. The Dietary Aide must be capable of standing, walking, bending, and squatting for extended periods and must be able to lift or maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role is suitable for individuals who possess basic reading and writing skills and can communicate effectively in English.

In addition to basic physical and communication requirements, candidates with previous food service experience, particularly in environments serving elderly populations or those with dementia, are preferred. The selected individual will also need to hold a Food Service Sanitation certificate in accordance with State or Local requirements, underscoring the importance of safety and hygiene in meal preparation and service. The employer offers an attractive package of benefits that include daily access to pay through ZayZoon, uniforms, employee discounts, employee appreciation events, an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, premium pay for holidays worked, and more, which are designed to support the wellbeing and motivation of part-time staff.

Employment considerations are made without bias toward any legally protected category, reinforcing the company’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The employer adheres strictly to the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA), inviting candidates with disabilities to request necessary accommodations during the application process, further demonstrating their commitment to accessibility and fairness.

Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful work in a supportive environment where they can contribute to the nutritional health and satisfaction of elderly residents, receive competitive benefits, and be part of a caring and dedicated team.
