Job Description

The Diet Aide role, under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, involves a vital function within Sierra Medical Center’s healthcare delivery system. This position focuses on providing exceptional patient food services and managing dish duties aligned with clinical dietary orders. The diet aide is responsible for utilizing Cerner diet reports and CBORD systems to accurately glean diet orders, supplement orders, and allergy information that ensures patients receive proper nutrition tailored to their therapeutic needs. This role requires preparing all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on these diet orders and approved recipes, while also obtaining menu preferences and meal orders using CBORD software. The role demands meticulous attention to detail to ensure dietary compliance and patient satisfaction.

Job Duties
- Obtains necessary information from the Cerner diet report and CBORD such as diet orders, supplement orders, and allergies to provide patients with adequate nutrition
- Obtains menu preferences and meal orders in CBORD software
- Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on therapeutic diet order and approved recipes
- Delivers patient meals to all patient care units
- Returns all carts to kitchen dish room at designated times
