The role of Full-Time Dietary Aide at Solaris HealthCare Lake Zephyr is essential within the food service team. This position primarily involves assisting with the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals served to residents and staff, adhering to federal, state, local, and Solaris HealthCare’s internal policies and regulations. While cooking skills are not generally required, the aide plays a crucial role in supporting cooks and food service directors by performing various duties such as carrying food trays and equipment, preparing and labeling nourishments, portioning desserts and salads, and ensuring all hygiene and food safety protocols are followed meticulously. The Dietary Aide contributes significantly to maintaining the overall sanitation and safety standards of the food service area, ensuring that residents' dietary needs are met in a timely and respectful manner.

Job Duties

  • Assists cook as directed by the food service director
  • carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, refrigerator, freezer, and dining rooms
  • prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures and delivers to resident areas
  • prepares and portions desserts, salads, and other non-entree foods into dishes and pours beverages
  • follows production sheets and pre-preparation guides
  • uses proper handwashing technique and frequency
  • completes work assignments
