Job Description
Elmhurst Healthcare is a locally owned and operated healthcare facility committed to delivering exceptional care and support to its residents. With a dedication to fostering compassionate and respectful environments, Elmhurst Healthcare goes beyond standard healthcare services to truly meet the needs of each individual under its care. Known for its strong community ties and emphasis on resident-centered care, the facility offers opportunities for professionals who are motivated by a genuine desire to support and uplift others. Working at Elmhurst Healthcare means becoming part of a team that values integrity, teamwork, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in healthcare services. The facility supports its employees with comprehensive benefits and a positive work culture, making it a desirable place for healthcare professionals who want to make a meaningful impact in residents' lives.
The Dietary Aide role at Elmhurst Healthcare is a vital position responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of food while maintaining sanitary standards and enhancing the dining experience for residents. This position can be full-time or part-time, with competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $18.39 per hour. Additionally, there is a sign-on and retention bonus offered—$1,000 for full-time and $500 for part-time dietary aides—underscoring the facility's commitment to attracting and retaining dedicated staff. The Dietary Aide plays a key part in safeguarding food safety standards, preparing resident trays according to specific dietary instructions, and supporting kitchen operations such as stocking storage areas and refrigeration units.
In this role, dietary aides must uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene by safely handling food, dishes, and kitchen equipment. They are also tasked with delivering food and supplies efficiently to designated locations, contributing to a respectful and team-oriented environment. Part of the job entails participating in quality improvement activities and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive health information. The role requires strong organizational and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates should be able to create a resident-centered atmosphere that fosters safety, respect, and care, including the capacity to react promptly and decisively in emergencies.
Elmhurst Healthcare offers a robust benefits package that includes paid time off (vacation, sick, and holiday), medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with flexible spending accounts (FSA), life insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Employees can also take advantage of perks such as life assistance programs, home and auto insurance discounts, cellphone discounts notably with Verizon, and entertainment discounts like those for Six Flags. This role is ideally suited for compassionate individuals with a passion for helping others and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in food service and resident care. Working as a Dietary Aide at Elmhurst Healthcare is an excellent opportunity for candidates who want to contribute meaningfully to a caring community and enjoy support in their personal and professional growth.
