Job Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Food Handler's Permit
  • previous experience in nursing home food service preferred
  • ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • communicate effectively
  • perform simple math
  • ability to understand simple measurements and conversions
  • ability to plan and organize work
  • ability to set up trays and plates according to diet orders
  • ability to interpret specifications and standards
  • ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers
  • empathy for older adults

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required
  • serve meals in our health center
  • set up tables in the health center dining room and break down same after the meal
  • transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center
  • maintain station equipment and work area in a safe and sanitary condition
  • maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
  • attend in-service training and education as assigned
