The role offered is a vital position within Baptist Health’s food and nutrition services team. The primary responsibility is to initiate meal service for patients, ensuring that each patient receives meals according to their prescribed diet orders. This position involves processing meal orders, verifying meal selections, assembling trays where applicable, delivering meals timely, and conducting meal rounds to optimize the patient experience. The role demands excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, hospital staff, and guests. Building rapport with patients and their family members with empathy and compassion is crucial. The role also includes managing enteral supplies and verifying allergies and dietary preferences. Collaboration with dining services personnel is essential to facilitate smooth meal service.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with computer-related tasks, including wireless printing, iPads, and hardware maintenance, is important for managing daily responsibilities. Knowledge of basic Medical Nutrition Therapy is preferred. The role requires attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, organizational capability, and excellent verbal and written communication, including phone etiquette. The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $18.38 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, certificate, GED, training or experience required
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with computer-related skills including wireless printing, iPads, and hardware maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including phone etiquette
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Less than 1 year of experience
