This opportunity for a Technician role is based at the 2201 E Michigan Ave, Superior Township, MI location. As a Penske Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining Penske’s industry-leading fleet to ensure they remain safe and reliable for customers. Your work will involve performing routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs across a range of vehicle types, including gas and diesel engines. By using Penske’s advanced tools and vehicle maintenance technology, you will complete diagnostics, lubrication, component replacements, and electrical system repairs while partnering closely with supervisors and master technicians to enhance skills and knowledge through certified training programs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work safely in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, and using hands routinely
- Ability to work at heights and in all weather conditions
- Must maintain a driver qualification file and pass required background, drug screen, and physical examinations
- Willingness to work the required schedule and location
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Compliance with Penske management instructions and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand and comply with established instructions and policies
Job Duties
- Maintain vehicles to ensure safety and reliability for customers
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs including basic diagnostics
- Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement and rotation, lubrication, component replacement, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance
- Partner with managers and master technicians to learn new skills through hands-on coaching and the Technician Certification Program
- Complete additional projects and tasks assigned by supervisors
- Adhere to safety policies including DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records and comply with driver qualification requirements including passing drug screens and physical exams
