Job Description
Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is a premier global transportation provider headquartered in Reading, PA. Known for delivering essential and innovative transportation, logistics, and technology services, Penske helps companies and individuals move forward with efficiency and reliability. The company is driven by a commitment to excellence and customer success, consistently maintaining a reputation for high-quality service and professionalism in the industry. As a leader in truck leasing and transportation solutions, Penske offers a broad range of vehicles and support services, ensuring that its customers’ vehicles are well-maintained, safe, and up to date with the latest industry standards and technologies.
This role is a Technician position located at 6247 W Hamilton Park Dr, Columbus, GA. As a Technician at Penske, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on one of the newest and best-maintained fleets in the industry. This position is ideal for both entry-level candidates fresh out of school, and those with prior vehicle repair experience seeking to switch gears and grow their careers in a stable, growth-oriented environment. Working with Penske means no two days are the same — you’ll gain experience working on various types of equipment, not restricted to a single manufacturer, and benefit from a strong emphasis on doing the job right with the appropriate time and resources provided. Safety and reliability are the largest priorities, making sure vehicles are always maintained to the highest standards for customer satisfaction and operational safety.
Technicians at Penske are supported through mentorship from experienced supervisors and master technicians and receive industry-certified training. Penske’s Technician Certification Program is recognized as a Continuing Automotive Service Education provider, giving individuals the chance to build skills and knowledge continuously. The company takes pride in its clean, organized facilities and provides all necessary major shop tools required to complete repair and maintenance tasks efficiently. The working schedule is Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, offering some weekend hours with shift premiums.
Beyond the technical experience, the role offers a competitive starting salary, shift premiums for weekend work, career stability, and ample opportunity for professional growth within the organization. Penske's benefits package is strong, including significant paid time off, ensuring a healthy work-life balance. The role demands a professional attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to work well within a team, and adherence to strict safety protocols governed by DOT, OSHA, and internal Penske policies. Physical requirements of the role include frequent movement, lifting equipment weights up to 100 pounds, working safely at heights, and the ability to work under varying weather conditions. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and responsibility for both self and others. Overall, this career opportunity at Penske is designed for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to an industry-leading transportation service provider.
