The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is a leading healthcare institution that operates within the Medical University of South Carolina system, providing advanced medical services, research, and education. MUHA is renowned for its commitment to excellence in patient care, technological innovation, and medical education. Located primarily at the Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower, the hospital serves a diverse patient population and offers a wide range of specialized healthcare services. The Radiology Department at MUHA is an integral unit, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic radiology technology and staffed by highly skilled professionals dedicated to accurate diagnosis and patient safety. As part of this prestigious medical institution, MUHA emphasizes a supportive work environment where energetic and enthusiastic individuals can thrive and build rewarding careers in healthcare.
The role of the Radiology Supervisor (Diagnostic) is a critical leadership position within the Diagnostic Radiology Department at MUHA. Reporting directly to the Radiology Manager, this role involves coordinating clinical operations across multiple locations including the Main Hospital and Ashley River Tower. The Radiology Supervisor operates radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic-quality radiographs (x-rays) essential for patient diagnosis and treatment planning. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of managing equipment, overseeing departmental personnel, and ensuring efficient functioning of the diagnostic radiology services under limited supervision. Employees in this role work full-time during the day shift, dedicating 40 hours per week to delivering high-quality patient care. This position offers an hourly pay rate classified under Pay Grade Health-29, reflecting the specialization and responsibility level.
In addition to operational duties, the Radiology Supervisor is tasked with upholding rigorous safety and quality standards, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Essential to this role is the requirement for advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and procedures, solid leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and develop staff. Candidates are required to hold an Associate's Degree, have a minimum of five years of progressive work experience in radiology with at least one year in a leadership capacity. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensure by the South Carolina Radiologic Society (SCQRSA) are mandatory, alongside current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
The position is accompanied by attractive incentives including a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $5,000 relocation assistance, subject to eligibility criteria set by MUSC Health HR. These benefits underscore the hospital's commitment to attracting highly qualified professionals who are passionate about advancing their careers while contributing meaningfully to patient care. Moreover, MUHA proudly upholds an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring fair consideration of all qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or other protected statuses. The institution participates in the federal E-Verify program to maintain employment authorization standards for all newly hired employees. This opportunity promises not only a stable and rewarding career but also the chance to be part of a respected healthcare institution dedicated to excellence and community service.
