With a workforce of over 100,000 team members in more than 350 offices spanning the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, the company offers a wide range of services including janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and mission-critical solutions.
ABM is committed to workforce diversity, equal opportunity employment, and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities. The company values veterans and military experience and encourages applicants from these backgrounds. ABM also participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility verification.
The Lead Cabin Cleaner role based at DFW Airport in Irving, TX, is an essential position within ABM’s airport services. This position is part of the frontline team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of aircraft interiors between flights. The Lead Cabin Cleaner is not only tasked with performing cleaning duties but also plays a critical leadership role by guiding a team of cabin cleaners to achieve top-quality standards. Working primarily on the PM shift—either from 1 pm to 9:30 pm or from 2 pm to 10:30 pm depending on scheduling—the Lead Cabin Cleaner ensures that aircraft cabins are thoroughly cleaned, restocked, and inspected to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for passengers and crew members.
The responsibilities associated with this role include performing cleaning tasks such as removing trash, sanitizing cabin areas, restocking supplies, and conducting security searches on designated aircraft. This position also requires adherence to strict aviation safety, security, compliance, and quality standards established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities. As a leader, the Lead Cabin Cleaner promotes effective communication between field employees and management, provides positive coaching and training to team members, and assists supervisors and shift managers with directing and supervising daily operations.
This position offers a competitive pay rate of $16.75 per hour with weekly payment. It is suitable for individuals who are new to the workforce, returning after a break, or those with limited prior experience or education. No formal education such as a high school diploma or GED is required. Instead, the focus is on reliability, commitment to quality service, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and the willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. The work environment may involve exposure to moderate to high noise levels and outdoor weather conditions.
ABM values employee safety and compliance. Employees in this role must comply with grooming standards, wear an airport identification badge at all times, and follow all safety and security procedures diligently. The company supports its team members with a comprehensive benefits package, fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes employee well-being and career development.
Overall, the Lead Cabin Cleaner role at ABM is a vital position that combines hands-on cleaning expertise with leadership responsibilities, offering a great opportunity for individuals seeking stable employment in the aviation services sector. Candidates who are dependable, proactive, and team-oriented will find this role rewarding and aligned with ABM’s mission to improve the spaces and places that matter most.
