The Development Coordinator position within the Office of Development & Alumni Affairs at Yale School of Public Health plays a crucial role in advancing the school's fundraising efforts and alumni engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, the coordinated role is focused on providing comprehensive administrative and operational support that drives strategic initiatives. The primary responsibilities of this role include managing donor data, coordinating the receipt and accurate processing of gifts, booking pledges, and handling the setup of new gift accounts in alignment with formalized donor agreements. The Development Coordinator maintains ongoing communication with the business office and gift services to ensure funds are properly classified, accounted for, and monitored in support of budget planning and gift stewardship efforts.
The Development Coordinator also plays an active role in supporting event coordination for development and alumni outreach activities, collaborating with internal teams to enhance engagement opportunities and tracking participation metrics. This position requires proficiency in managing detailed donor and fundraising information, generating reports for senior leadership, and driving continuous improvement in data entry and collection processes using systems like Hopper. The Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the preparation of presentations, meeting agendas, and documentation for Yale School of Public Health's Leadership Council, directly supporting the school's advisory board activities.

Job Requirements
- Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education
- or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree
- or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field
- or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Job Duties
- Receive checks mailed to the YSPH Development office and complete required paperwork for Gift and Records Services to deposit money into correct accounts
- Book pledges and manage the setup of a new gift account designations and fund setup in accordance with formalized gift agreements dictating donor terms of payment
- Work with the YSPH Business Office to secure new fund Charts of Accounts and communicate details of funds available to internal parties
- Deliver quarterly reports on new funds established and evaluate open pledge balances for annual budget planning
- Monitor all incoming gifts from donors and communicate with Gift and Records Services regarding incoming cash wires, ACH transfers, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date records of changing details or reporting requirements for each fund
- Assist in planning and execution of development and alumni events and track event participation
