Job Description
Energy Resource Center (ERC) is a reputable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of homes throughout Colorado. With a strong focus on supporting low-income households, ERC commits to creating healthier living environments while also addressing critical energy concerns. Their work spans a range of programs designed to empower community members through education, assistance, and resources aimed at improving home energy use. ERC operates across five office locations, fostering community partnerships, delivering impactful services, and advocating for sustainable practices that benefit both individuals and the environment.
As a nonprofit rooted in community support, ERC embraces an inclusive workplace culture centered around equal employment opportunities. They prohibit discrimination based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other legally protected statuses. This approach reflects ERC’s dedication to diversity and equity in their workforce and program outreach.
The Development Coordinator role at ERC is a dynamic and essential position integral to the organization’s growth and sustainability. Reporting to the Director of Programs, this full-time role focuses on bolstering ERC's development, marketing, and fundraising initiatives. The Development Coordinator is tasked with the coordination of various operational and communication activities across ERC’s five offices, playing a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission. This position handles a range of responsibilities including donor and partner communications, coordinating marketing materials, grant support, event planning, and stewardship activities. Through these duties, the Coordinator helps to build and maintain essential relationships with donors, volunteers, contractors, and community partners while promoting ERC’s programs and services.
This role also supports ERC’s innovative Pay It Forward program, which finances fee-for-service energy solutions, such as HVAC, insulation, energy audits, and whole-home efficiency packages. By assisting outreach and networking efforts, the Development Coordinator helps secure new referrals and business growth while ensuring revenue supports services for those in financial need. The role bridges marketing, outreach, and fundraising efforts to help ERC increase its retained earnings and organizational impact.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least two years in nonprofit administration, coordination, marketing, fundraising, or grant support. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, as the role involves frequent collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Candidates must be detail-oriented and skilled in managing multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Experience with donor databases, grant writing, and event logistics is highly valued. ERC offers a competitive hourly wage of $29.00 to $36.00 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
The Development Coordinator position is ideal for an organized, motivated individual passionate about nonprofit work and community engagement. With significant opportunities to contribute to strategic growth and program success, this role provides a fulfilling career path within a socially responsible organization committed to energy efficiency and housing safety in Colorado.
