The Development Coordinator and Event Associate position is integral to advancing the fundraising and community outreach objectives of Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada. This role supports a wide array of development activities including donor stewardship, organizing special events, database management, and communications coordination. Working under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Coordinator collaborates with staff, volunteers, and committees to implement fundraising priorities. Key responsibilities involve supporting donor acknowledgment, preparing materials for donor meetings, and assisting in the cultivation of relationships with sponsors and community partners. The role demands someone who can effectively manage multiple tasks while supporting major fundraising campaigns like the annual golf tournament and gala, coordinating logistics, and helping with auction and sponsorship management.

The Development Coordinator and Event Associate also plays a critical role in maintaining accurate donor records utilizing Bloomerang database software, ensuring all fundraising data is up to date and supporting reporting efforts that guide fundraising strategy. They assist with donor segmentation, mailing preparations, and support outreach efforts by helping prepare development communications such as newsletters and appeals. Additionally, this role aids in social media content coordination and helps maintain online presence through website updates. The position supports volunteer and committee activities, including preparing meeting materials, tracking participation, and stewardship initiatives.

Working as part of a dynamic and fast-paced team, the Development Coordinator and Event Associate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal communication abilities. This full-time position offers an annual salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 and requires availability for some nights and weekends to assist with events. Based in a shared office environment, the role demands flexibility, independence, and dedication to the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada. Job Requirements

  • minimum 2 years experience
  • knowledge of donor databases required (Bloomerang preferred)
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office required (specifically mail merge using Excel and MS Word)
  • knowledge of creative software programs (Canva preferred)
  • experience working in a non-profit setting preferred
  • comfortable working independently and contributing to a dynamic team
  • excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to work in fast-paced and growing environment in a shared office space
  • exceptionally well-organized and a strong ability to prioritize
  • professional in appearance, demeanor, and team player mentality

Job Duties

  • support donor acknowledgment processes including preparation of thank you letters and recognition materials
  • assist with tracking donor activity and maintaining accurate records in Bloomerang
  • help prepare materials for donor meetings and cultivation opportunities
  • support stewardship activities including donor recognition and reporting
  • assist with preparation of fundraising updates for leadership and board members
  • support renewal outreach and follow up with returning sponsors and community partners
  • assist with collecting family stories and impact examples for development communications and donor engagement
  • assist with planning and implementation of signature fundraising events including the golf tournament, gala, and third party events
  • support planning and execution of the annual golf tournament, including sponsor coordination, logistics tracking, and committee support
  • support event logistics including sponsor tracking, guest lists, auction coordination, and volunteer communication
  • assist with procurement of auction items and sponsorship materials
  • assist with sponsorship tracking, fulfillment, and recognition for fundraising events and campaigns
  • support community hosted fundraising activities benefiting RMHC Northern Nevada
  • provide administrative coordination for fundraising committees as needed
  • support implementation of national RMHC programs and initiatives at the local level as needed
  • maintain accurate donor records in Bloomerang and support reporting that informs fundraising strategy and outreach
  • assist with gift entry coordination and reconciliation tracking
  • support preparation of development reports and campaign updates
  • assist with donor segmentation lists and mailing preparation
  • help monitor sponsorship commitments and pledge tracking
  • assist with preparation of development related communications including newsletters, appeals, and event messaging
  • support coordination of social media content related to fundraising activities
  • help maintain accuracy of development information on the RMHC Northern Nevada website
  • assist with preparing materials for community presentations and outreach opportunities
  • represent RMHC Northern Nevada at community events, partner activities, and outreach opportunities to increase awareness and engagement
  • provide coordination support for Red Shoe Society engagement activities
  • assist with committee meeting preparation including agendas and follow up materials
  • help track volunteer participation connected to development initiatives
  • support stewardship efforts for volunteers and community partners
  • provide scheduling coordination support for development meetings and activities
  • assist with tracking timelines for fundraising initiatives and sponsorship outreach
  • maintain organized electronic and physical development files
  • support preparation of sponsorship packets and donor materials
  • assist with general office support related to development activities as needed
