Job Description

Renaissance Hotels is a distinctive brand under Marriott International, dedicated to offering guests a unique experience that captures the spirit and culture of the neighborhoods in which they are located. Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to quality service, innovation, and inclusivity. With a diverse portfolio of brands, Marriott fosters a dynamic workplace culture that values the unique backgrounds and experiences of its associates, ensuring an environment of growth, respect, and opportunity.

The property located at 1551 Thoreau Dr N, Schaumburg, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Management professional within the Sales and Marketing category. This role is essential to the success of the hotel's group sales efforts and overall guest experience. Offering an hourly pay range between $32.21 and $43.75, with eligibility for bonuses, this position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional service and driving revenue growth.

As a pivotal part of the sales team, the Group Sales Coordinator partners closely with the Sales Office to secure group bookings within predefined parameters, ensuring a seamless transition for event execution. The role involves coordinating site inspections and visits for off-property sales managers, confirming business turnover is timely to guarantee exemplary service delivery. The Coordinator actively maximizes revenue by upselling additional products and services, including leisure facilities such as the spa, golf course, and restaurants, to both group planners and leisure guests.

This position requires proactive collaboration with various sales channels, including Area Sales, Enterprise Sales Teams, and off-property sales offices, to identify and cultivate new group and catering business opportunities. The individual will be responsible for managing detailed event planning aspects, including very advanced bookings up to three years out. Coordination and planning of Familiarization Tours (FAM) and in-market customer events are also key responsibilities, aiming to enhance customer relationships and loyalty.

The Group Sales Coordinator supports Marriott’s brand initiatives and service strategies by delivering superior customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction from initial sales contact through event execution. This includes attending pre- and post-convention meetings, monitoring guest issues originating from the sales process, and providing expert advice on local attractions and market conditions. The role also involves developing site standards and pricing guidelines, understanding the competitive landscape, and assisting in promotional activities.

In addition to sales and coordination duties, the role requires building strong, lasting relationships with existing and new customers, acting as a personal concierge during site visits, and providing exceptional client care and entertainment to enhance the overall guest experience. The Coordinator must also be knowledgeable about Marriott’s Guestware Program, assisting with reward member services and accommodating special client needs.

Renaissance Hotels pride themselves on fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally. As part of the team, the Group Sales Coordinator plays a critical role in expanding the brand’s footprint by ensuring every client interaction reflects the brand’s commitment to service excellence and neighborhood engagement. This position not only contributes directly to the hotel’s revenue goals but also enhances the reputation of Marriott International through exceptional sales execution and personalized guest service.
