Job Description
The Cheesecake Factory is a renowned leader in experiential dining, celebrated for its culinary-forward approach and relentless focus on hospitality. Since its inception, The Cheesecake Factory has been dedicated to creating delicious, memorable experiences crafted by passionate individuals who take pride in their roles. With a vast network of 353 restaurants throughout the United States and Canada, including brands such as North Italia and Flower Child, alongside international operations and a specialized bakery division, the company has established itself as a major player in the restaurant industry. The Cheesecake Factory's commitment to quality extends beyond its dining rooms to its bakery facilities, where premium cheesecakes and baked products are produced for their restaurants and international partners.
As an employer, The Cheesecake Factory is recognized for its inclusive and welcoming workplace culture, having earned a spot on FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list consistently since 2014. The company offers competitive compensation ranging from $13.00 to $16.75 per hour for the Dessert Finisher/Barista role, accompanied by flexible scheduling options that accommodate both full-time and part-time team members. Employees benefit from steady work hours, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth through world-class training and education programs.
The Dessert Finisher/Barista plays an essential role in maintaining the high standards of presentation and quality that The Cheesecake Factory is known for. Serving as the approachable and skilled face behind the bakery case, this position involves adding the final touches to the company’s iconic cheesecakes and desserts to ensure they captivate and satisfy guests visually and gastronomically. From glazing the signature strawberries to creating artful whipped cream dollops, every detail counts in upholding the establishment’s reputation. Furthermore, the role demands proficiency in operating espresso machines to craft specialty coffee and espresso beverages, thereby enhancing the guest experience by delivering excellence in both dessert and coffee services.
In this high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment, the Dessert Finisher/Barista is expected to work efficiently without compromising accuracy and presentation. The job requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation, including proper labeling, dating, and product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods. Organizational skills are vital, as team members are responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, performing station setups and breakdowns, and readily adapting to the dynamic demands of the restaurant floor.
Teamwork and communication are central to success in this role, as the individual will support front-of-house operations to deliver consistent guest satisfaction. The Cheesecake Factory values employees who bring a positive attitude, multitasking capability, and dedication to contributing to a positive workplace culture. Candidates are expected to be dependable, punctual, and physically capable of handling the demands of the role—including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and the culinary arts to thrive in a supportive environment that rewards hard work and ambition. Alongside competitive pay and flexible schedules, employees enjoy benefits such as paid vacation, medical coverage options, employee recognition programs, and access to educational resources, making The Cheesecake Factory not just a place to work, but a place to grow and succeed.
