The position of Desk Clerk at The John Stewart Company is an essential role that supports the overall management and operations of their property sites. Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the Desk Clerk is responsible for monitoring all traffic in and out of the building to ensure a secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This role is pivotal in maintaining clear and respectful communication with tenants and visitors, which helps promote a positive community atmosphere. The Desk Clerk manages a variety of office responsibilities including answering phones, directing calls, taking messages, and handling emergency communication when necessary. Job Duties

  • Answer telephones, direct calls, take messages and make emergency calls when situations arrive
  • Assist with office responsibilities such as completing work orders, comment cards, visitor violation forms and other duties assigned by management
  • Inform visitors of visitor policy, check visitor ID and sign visitors in and out of the building
  • Complete incident reports to record unusual building activity
  • Distribute resident mail on daily basis
  • Fill in as requested when other desk clerks are absent
  • Testing of annual tuberculosis may be required as well as following Exposure Control Protocol for blood borne pathogens
