With over 50 state-of-the-art showroom and distribution centers across the United States and Canada, MSI offers an extensive product line that includes granite, quartz, porcelain, luxury vinyl flooring, slate, marble, travertine, sandstone, limestone, quartzite, onyx, stacked stone, and pavers imported from more than 36 countries across six continents. MSI is recognized for its excellence in the industry, having received multiple prestigious awards such as the Top 5 Fastest Growing Companies by OC Business Journal, the Supplier Diversity Award from Home Depot, multiple consecutive years as the Number 1 Flooring Distributor by Floor Covering Weekly, multiple Top Workplaces Awards, and the Entrepreneur of the Year award for MSI's founder from Ernst and Young. MSI prides itself on fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace environment where employees can thrive and deliver their best work without discrimination of any kind. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations and promoting equality across all aspects of employment.
The Trend & Design Associate role at MSI is a full-time, in-office position that plays an integral part within the National Marketing Department. This hourly non-exempt position offers a competitive wage ranging from $20 to $23 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. Typically, new hires can expect to earn between $49,400 and $56,800 annually, with additional compensation available through overtime and bonuses. The associate is responsible for thinking creatively and strategically in the development and execution of planograms and showroom layouts that highlight MSI’s diverse product offerings. This role requires proficiency in tools such as Google SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and planogram software to create and update floor plans and ensure that showroom products are displayed in an optimal manner to enhance customer engagement and the overall shopping experience.
The position demands strong project management skills to handle the timely completion of showroom deliverables and the ability to collaborate across departments including graphics and production teams. The associate acts as the main point of contact for assigned branch showrooms, ensuring they are maintained and operating efficiently. Occasionally, the role involves travel to out-of-state branch locations for showroom openings or updates. The Trend & Design Associate must have the ability to read and adjust architectural floorplans and provide detailed specifications for the board production process to facilitate seamless showroom operations. This role is ideal for individuals who have professional experience in interior design, space planning, or retail design, and possess a strong organizational mindset combined with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving capabilities. Moreover, the candidate must understand that the position is a corporate role with no direct retail or customer-facing responsibilities, making it highly suited for those interested in design and marketing behind the scenes of a leading industry supplier.
