Job Description
Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA) is a public agency dedicated to serving the diverse communities of Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne in the Los Angeles area. Established in 1960, TCMHA has a long-standing commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated mental health services that cater to individuals and families across various life stages. The agency offers a wide spectrum of services, including psychotherapy, clinical case management, medication support, peer-to-peer support, psychoeducation, vocational training, socialization activities, and community outreach. Through a collaborative approach with local communities and public agencies, TCMHA strives to enhance mental and emotional well-being by creating accessible and effective care systems.
The Deputy Director positions at TCMHA represent senior leadership roles with significant responsibility in planning, organizing, and directing the operations of assigned clinical, substance use disorder (SUD), and non-clinical behavioral health programs and services. These roles directly support the Chief Program Officer by overseeing program implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering continuous improvement across the organization’s system of care. The Deputy Directors will manage and coordinate programs funded under the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA), adult programs, and mobile crisis care, among others. These positions demand advanced strategic leadership skills crucial for aligning TCMHA’s resources with community needs and state behavioral health policies.
The positions are full-time with a competitive annual salary range of $139,855.24 to $178,494.66. Responsibilities include supervising subordinate management staff, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and ensuring operational efficiency. The Deputy Directors act as liaisons to various public and private agencies, enhancing service integration and collaboration to benefit the populations served. Their duties extend to budget preparation, personnel management, policy recommendation, and the execution of quality assurance protocols.
TCMHA seeks candidates with strong leadership competencies, administrative experience, and a deep understanding of behavioral health services. These roles require a commitment to public service and the ability to represent the agency before community groups, boards, and committees. The ideal candidates will bring a combination of clinical expertise and managerial acumen necessary for driving program success and meeting evolving community demands. This opportunity offers not only a rewarding career path but also a chance to influence mental health care delivery positively across multiple communities in the Los Angeles region.
