Its business model focuses on delivering everyday low prices (EDLP) and everyday low costs (EDLC) while continuously innovating and adopting new technologies to meet evolving customer needs. Walmart values diversity, inclusion, integrity, and a culture of continuous improvement, making it a sought-after employer in the retail sector.
This role is pivotal in driving the store’s operational success and delivering a superior customer experience. The position involves leading and developing teams through effective teaching, training, and active listening to associates, while touring stores and providing continuous feedback. It requires collaboration at all organizational levels to implement business initiatives, store operations, merchandising, and technology solutions aligned with Walmart’s overall direction and objectives. The role demands a proactive approach to managing change, setting clear expectations, and implementing solutions that enhance business performance.
Customer service excellence is at the heart of this position, ensuring that store associates follow the One Best Way (OBW) service model and that customer needs, complaints, and issues are promptly and successfully resolved. The position also holds financial accountability by reviewing profit and loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses within the designated store area. It includes overseeing merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flows, and implementing plans to mitigate shrinkage, all aimed at achieving sales and profitability goals.
Furthermore, this position offers direct supervisory responsibility for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, setting expectations, and promoting a workplace culture that fosters belonging and encourages associate recognition. The role also involves collaborating with key stakeholders to support business plans and initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance with company policies, ethics, and standards.
Walmart supports this role with a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $80,000 annually, accompanied by performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans such as 401(k) and stock purchase programs, paid time off including sick leave and parental leave, and unique programs such as Live Better U which supports education benefits. This position offers a dynamic environment for professionals passionate about leadership, customer service excellence, and retail business operations, with opportunities for growth and development within a leading global retailer.
