Job Requirements
- 2 years of college
- or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
- or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
- successful completion of job-required trainings and assessments
- for firearms facilities, successful completion of firearms-specific criminal background check and training
- for facilities selling only ammunition, possession of state-issued Certificate of Eligibility if applicable
- willingness to comply with company policies and maintain a drug-free workplace
- ability to attend and complete all required trainings and assessments
- commitment to company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Job Qualifications
- 2 years of college
- or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
- or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience
- bachelor of science in business management and leadership preferred
- certificate of completion in people and business leadership preferred
- experience supervising 5 or more direct reports preferred
- experience with performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing preferred
- ability to complete job-required trainings and assessments
- knowledge of criminal background check and firearms training requirements for certain facilities
- understanding of state-specific Certificate of Eligibility requirements for facilities selling ammunition.
Job Duties
- Lead and develop teams through teaching, training, and active listening
- tour stores and provide feedback
- communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations
- utilize technology and business initiatives for merchandising and company direction
- introduce and lead company change efforts
- provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions
- communicate business objectives effectively to teams
- model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model
- manage and support customer service initiatives and community outreach programs
- resolve customer needs, complaints, and issues successfully
- develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies
- provide process improvement leadership to ensure high-quality customer experience
- drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating Profit and Loss statements
- manage budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses
- monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes
- develop action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals
- supervise and develop hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and setting clear expectations
- provide associate recognition and promote a belonging mindset in the workplace
- coordinate and oversee job-related activities and assignments
- build relationships with key stakeholders and support plans and initiatives
- identify and communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, and measure progress
- demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning
- ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
- implement action plans related to compliance
