Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a McDonald's franchise, a globally recognized leader in the fast-food industry. McDonald's operates as a franchised restaurant chain committed to providing quality food, excellent customer service, and a welcoming environment. Each franchise is independently owned and operated, allowing them to maintain high standards while adapting to local community needs. This particular franchisee is seeking talented individuals to join their team in leadership roles that ensure smooth operation and outstanding guest experiences.
The role available is for a Department Manager, a key leadership position within the restaurant. Department Managers play an essential role in managing daily restaurant operations by leading shifts and supervising both crew members and other managers. Their primary focus is to deliver fast, accurate, and friendly service to customers while upholding McDonald's high standards for quality, service, and cleanliness. Department Managers are charged with a range of responsibilities including planning shifts, monitoring team performance, ensuring safety and security compliance, and managing profitability targets. They also facilitate seamless communication with incoming shift leaders to guarantee continuity and preparedness for successful shifts. This position demands a versatile leader capable of managing specific departments such as People, Guest, or Kitchen, each focusing on critical areas like team welfare, guest hospitality, or food quality and safety.
As a Department Manager, you may also undertake Shift Manager responsibilities, requiring familiarity with food safety, internal communications, inventory management, daily cleanliness routines, crew management, quality food production, exceptional customer service, safety, and scheduling. The ideal candidate is a positive team player who thrives in McDonald's famously fast-paced environment and maintains a flexible schedule. Previous leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting is preferred. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this management role in corporate-owned and operated locations.
In terms of remuneration, this position offers a competitive wage range from $17 to $21 per hour, commensurate with experience and availability. Comprehensive health care benefits are available after one year of full-time employment, aligning with ACA standards. The franchise supports employee growth and well-being through Colorado Paid Sick Leave or Paid Time Off programs and access to Archways to Opportunity, a comprehensive educational program offering high school diplomas, college tuition assistance, and ESL classes. Additional incentives include up to 48 hours of paid time off accrued annually, medical, dental, and vision coverage, free employee meals during shifts, and monthly bonus programs rewarding achievement of company goals.
Applicants should understand that employment is with the independent franchisee, not McDonald's USA. The franchisee solely controls all employment decisions including hiring, firing, supervision, and scheduling. This job posting illustrates what working in a McDonald's restaurant entails but may not encompass all essential job functions. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply knowing that the hiring company is a separate entity licensed to operate under the McDonald's brand but independently responsible for its employment practices. Joining this franchise offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills, advance in a dynamic environment, and contribute to delivering the quality dining experience McDonald's customers expect.
