The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s globally recognized brand logos and food products but functions as an independent employer responsible for all employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, and scheduling. As a prospective employee, your relationship, if hired, will be directly with this franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. This distinction underlines the autonomy of the franchisee in managing its operations and human resources locally while delivering the McDonald’s brand experience at the restaurant level.
