Job Description
This job is offered by a restaurant that is owned and operated by an independent franchisee who holds a license to use McDonald's logos and food products. It is important to note that this franchisee operates as a separate company and employer distinct from McDonald's USA. As such, all employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are managed solely by this independent franchisee. McDonald's USA does not control or involve itself in these employment decisions or processes, and it will not receive a copy of your employment application nor participate in decisions whether you will be interviewed or hired.
Working at this McDonald's restaurant offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced food service environment where team collaboration and customer satisfaction are the priorities. The franchisee is committed to building a rewarding workplace and advancing careers for its employees. This position provides a fulfilling career path with opportunities for growth, education, skill development, and leadership training, combined with a supportive team atmosphere. The culture encourages energetic and positive team members who are eager to contribute, learn, and advance.
The role available is primarily for a Department Manager position, which includes shift leadership responsibilities and oversight of specific departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People management. Managers lead shifts by ensuring customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service during every visit. Department Managers have additional responsibilities like managing assigned systems, such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting departmental goals, delegating tasks, following up on performance, and reporting results to their team and other managers.
In Guest Service management, the role focuses on ensuring crew and managers provide an excellent customer experience, executing sales promotions effectively, training service staff in procedures, and maintaining organized service areas such as the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru.
Kitchen management prioritizes delivering high-quality, fast service of safe food, controlling food costs, and training kitchen staff in production procedures including newly introduced menu items.
People Department management involves overseeing recruitment of qualified crew members, effective training, scheduling to meet sales and profit targets, and motivating and recognizing crew during their tenure.
Ideal candidates for this role are positive team players with flexible schedules who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a passion for excellence. While previous managerial experience is preferred, especially within restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors, this role is suitable for individuals who are at least 18 years old and eager to build a career with a renowned brand under independent franchise ownership.
Along with competitive pay, Department Managers receive an impressive benefits package, including paid vacation ranging from 15 to 25 days, 10 paid holidays, anniversary splash bonuses, and an eight-week sabbatical every 10 years. Other benefits include education opportunities through Archways to Opportunity, such as high school diploma programs, college tuition assistance, and English as a second language courses. Health benefits encompass medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with pre-tax flexible spending accounts. Additional insurance options such as short- and long-term disability, life, and accident insurance are provided. Paid leaves of absence, service recognition awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and matching gifts programs add further value to the compensation package.
This opportunity is not just a job but a chance to build a meaningful career and grow personally and professionally within a trusted global brand’s franchise network. If you are looking for a role that inspires your best, allows you to pursue your education, build your skills, and be part of a committed team, this Department Manager position may be the perfect fit. Join the team and make your move to an exciting future with numerous development and advancement possibilities.
