The Produce Team Supervisor role is essential in supporting the management and daily operations of the Produce Department, ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position assists with scheduling and supervising team members and focuses on maintaining compelling displays in the produce, coffee, and juice sections. The supervisor works closely with the Produce Team Leader and Associate Team Leader to promote a positive, team-oriented environment by mentoring and training team members to reach high-performance standards and reduce turnover. This role requires outstanding customer service skills, leadership ability, organizational talents, and a solid understanding of retail best practices.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing and walking 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day
- hand use involving single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to various temperature conditions including below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in a wet and cold environment
- availability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
Job Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of produce team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner
- product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory
- demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- 12+ months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Produce Team Members
- works with Produce Trainer to train Team Members to build and sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover
- assists in training new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members
- provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
