Job Description

This job opportunity is provided by a restaurant that is part of the McDonald's franchise network but is owned and operated independently by a franchisee. Unlike McDonald's USA which manages its own corporate-owned restaurants, this franchisee holds the license to use McDonald's trademarks, logos, and food products while independently managing the day-to-day operations, staffing, hiring, and employee supervision. This distinction means that employment decisions and policies are controlled solely by the franchise owner, and McDonald's USA is not involved in employment matters, including the hiring process or interview scheduling.

The position offered is for Department Manager at a McDonald's restaurant operated by this franchisee. This role provides an excellent career path within the fast-paced food service industry, offering a combination of on-the-job leadership experience and employee development opportunities. Department Managers serve a critical role in ensuring excellent customer service, high food quality, and operational efficiency within their areas of responsibility. These departments may include Guest Service, Kitchen, or People. The Guest Service Manager oversees the customer experience, including training staff in service protocols, managing promotions, and ensuring smooth operation of the frontline service areas like the counter, McCafé, and drive-thru. The Kitchen Manager focuses on food preparation standards, safety, cost control, and staff training to uphold McDonald’s quality expectations. The People Manager is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating crew members to meet performance goals while fostering a positive work environment.

This role offers flexible work hours allowing employees to balance education pursuits or other life responsibilities with career growth. McDonald's franchise managers benefit from comprehensive training, leadership development, and a supportive team culture dedicated to delivering great food and creating feel-good moments for customers. Ideal candidates are positive team players eager to thrive in a fast-moving environment, willing to lead by example, and focused on delivering outstanding customer satisfaction. Prior managerial experience in restaurants, retail, or hospitality is preferred, and candidates must be at least 18 years old.

Working as a Department Manager in a McDonald's franchise restaurant opens pathways to advancement supported by competitive pay, a range of benefits, and education assistance programs. These include opportunities to complete high school, pursue college tuition aid, and improve English proficiency through Archways to Opportunity programs. Additional benefits encompass medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, paid and unpaid leaves, 401k retirement plans, free meals and uniforms, and access to an employee resource connection. This rewarding role cultivates leadership skills, operational expertise, and a fulfilling career while contributing to a globally recognized brand but within a locally managed business.
