Job Description
This job opportunity is with a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald's logos and food products. Unlike corporate-owned restaurants, this establishment is managed and operated independently from McDonald's USA, making the franchisee the sole employer responsible for all employment-related matters. As a result, if hired for this position, your employment relationship will be directly with the franchisee, not McDonald's USA. The franchisee manages all aspects of hiring, firing, scheduling, supervision, and employee relations within the restaurant.
This particular restaurant offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that thrives on delivering quality food and exceptional customer service. The role available is a Department Manager position, an essential leadership role tasked with guiding teams and ensuring smooth operations across various departments. This position is ideal for motivated and energetic individuals seeking career growth, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits, including paid vacations, health coverage, tuition assistance, and other valuable employee perks.
The Department Manager role is crafted for those who wish to step into a leadership position where they can influence daily operations, manage teams effectively, and help drive the restaurant’s success. Depending on the department assigned, these managers may lead shifts, oversee specific operational systems such as training, food safety, or inventory, and ensure that every customer interaction is timely, accurate, and friendly. This role provides an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth within the hospitality industry, allowing managers to develop leadership skills, coaching abilities, and operational expertise.
Within the structure of the restaurant, Department Managers may specialize in distinct areas. The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on enhancing customer experience by managing service staff at the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru areas. They ensure promotions are correctly executed and service standards are upheld. The Kitchen Department Manager prioritizes food quality, speed of service, safety, and cost control while training kitchen staff on production procedures. The People Department Manager handles recruitment, training, scheduling, and employee engagement, which includes motivating and recognizing crew members to foster a positive work environment.
Managerial experience is preferred but not mandatory, with a recommendation for candidates coming from restaurant, retail, or hospitality backgrounds. The franchisee values positive team players who enjoy fast-paced environments, have flexible schedules, and demonstrate passion and professionalism in delivering excellent service. One must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this managerial position in corporate-owned and operated restaurants.
Employment under this franchisee offers not only the chance to gain valuable leadership experience but also access to well-rounded benefits. Employees receive between 15 to 25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, anniversary bonuses, and sabbaticals for long-term service. The franchisee also supports education through programs like Archways to Opportunity, providing opportunities to earn high school diplomas, college tuition assistance, and English as a second language classes.
Moreover, the position includes access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside flexible spending accounts, short- and long-term disability coverage, life and accident insurance, and paid leaves of absence. Additional perks include service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program—all designed to support employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
This role is not just a job; it is a pathway to building a rewarding career with extensive training, growth opportunities, and meaningful benefits. The franchisee-owned restaurant environment offers a supportive and challenging setting for individuals who want to advance in the restaurant industry while balancing education and personal commitments.
