Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by an independent franchisee operating a McDonald's restaurant, separate from McDonald's USA. The franchisee holds the license to use McDonald's logos, food products, and branding but operates as a distinct company and employer. This means that all employment-related decisions including hiring, firing, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are handled solely by the franchisee. McDonald's USA is not responsible for, nor involved with, any employment matters related to this position. Candidates applying for this role will be considered employees of the franchisee, not McDonald's USA.

McDonald's as a brand is globally recognized for serving quality fast food with speed, consistency, and friendliness. Operating under the McDonald's brand offers employees access to a dynamic work environment with a strong emphasis on leadership development, team collaboration, and career growth. This position is an excellent fit for individuals seeking a challenging yet rewarding career path with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits.

The role described is for a Department Manager in the restaurant. Department Managers lead teams during shifts ensuring that customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every time they visit. Depending on the department assigned, a manager’s responsibilities may vary. Some managers oversee key operational systems like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, where they set goals, delegate tasks, and track progress. Others focus on the Guest Service department, making sure employees deliver a superior customer experience, manage sales promotions effectively, and maintain organized front-of-house operations including the McCafé and Drive-Thru areas.

Kitchen Department Managers are tasked with delivering high-quality food quickly and safely, controlling food costs, and training kitchen staff on proper food production procedures, including new menu item rollouts. People Department Managers focus on recruitment, training, and scheduling to ensure the restaurant meets sales and profit goals and that crew members receive motivation and recognition throughout their employment.

Ideal candidates will have previous management experience, preferably within restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for management roles within corporate-owned McDonald's restaurants. This position offers the flexibility to choose working hours, the opportunity to pursue continuing education, and develop valuable leadership skills in a supportive team setting.

Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of managing teams and operations, McDonald's provides its Department Managers with a comprehensive benefits package. These include competitive pay, paid vacation days, tuition assistance through the Archways to Opportunity program, supplemental and medical coverage, as well as disability, life and accident insurance. McDonald's also recognizes employee commitment with service awards, fostering a culture of appreciation and growth. This position represents a unique chance to build a meaningful career with a global brand while working in a community-focused franchise environment.

Overall, this role is well-suited for motivated leaders who are passionate about customer service, team development, and operational excellence, making a substantial contribution to the success and reputation of the franchise restaurant.
