Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant independently owned and operated by a franchisee of McDonald’s, separate from McDonald’s USA. This franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and trademarks and serves McDonald’s branded food products. However, employment matters are handled exclusively by the franchisee, making them the direct employers responsible for hiring, scheduling, discipline and all other employee-related functions. McDonald’s USA is not involved in employment decisions, hiring processes, or the management of the restaurant’s staff. This distinction ensures that while employees work within the McDonald’s brand environment, their employment relationship is with an independent business operator.

The restaurant operates with the same standards for quality, service, and cleanliness expected of the McDonald’s brand worldwide. Working here means adhering to high-performance standards to provide customers with fast, friendly service and delicious food. The environment is fast-paced and energetic, ideal for individuals who thrive in team settings and want to develop their leadership and operational skills. This location values employees who are eager to learn, grow, and take advantage of the numerous opportunities for advancement internally.

The role being offered is a Department Manager position at the restaurant level within this franchise. Department Managers are key leaders who manage the restaurant’s daily operations during their shifts and lead their respective teams. Depending on the assignment, managers might oversee key systems such as Training, Food Safety, Inventory Management, or departments including Guest Service, Kitchen, or People Operations. The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on delivering excellent customer experiences, ensuring promotional activities are executed effectively, and managing areas such as the Front Counter, McCafe, and Drive-Thru to optimize service efficiency. Kitchen Department Managers ensure food quality, safety, cost control, and proper training in food production procedures. People Department Managers are responsible for recruitment, training, scheduling, and employee engagement to meet restaurant sales and profitability goals.

This position demands someone who is a positive team player with flexible availability willing to work in a fast-moving environment. Prior managerial experience is preferred, ideally within restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to be considered for management roles in this corporate-owned store.

Beyond the immediate responsibilities, this role offers competitive pay and an array of comprehensive benefits designed to support personal and professional growth. Benefits available to Department Managers include 15 to 25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, anniversary splash rewards, and an 8-week sabbatical after 10 years of employment. Education support is provided through the Archways to Opportunity program, offering high school completion, college tuition assistance, and English as a Second Language courses. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage; short- and long-term disability protection; life and accident insurance; pre-tax flexible spending accounts; as well as paid leaves of absence. Employees also gain access to employee resource connections, service awards, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts charitable program.

This role is an excellent fit for those seeking a rewarding career path with an established global brand while working in an independently operated restaurant environment. It promises a supportive workplace, opportunities for training and leadership development, and a chance to contribute directly to the success of the business and satisfaction of its customers. If you are ready to make a move forward in your career by embracing responsibility and growth, applying for the Department Manager position here offers a compelling opportunity to do just that.
