Job Description

This job posting is for a position at a restaurant that is owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald's USA. This franchisee holds the license to use McDonald's logos, branding, and food products but functions as a separate company and separate employer from McDonald's USA. Employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are managed exclusively by the franchisee, who is the actual employer for positions within the restaurant. McDonald's USA neither influences these employment decisions nor receives any application information from candidates. The role described is specifically with the franchised restaurant operator, providing a unique opportunity to work for an established global brand while being employed by a local independent business.

The opportunity is for a Department Manager role within this McDonald's franchised restaurant. This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where leadership, teamwork, and operational excellence are essential. Department Managers lead shifts weekly to ensure every customer receives speedy, accurate, and friendly service. Beyond daily shift leadership, some managers also handle department-specific responsibilities such as managing assigned systems like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management. They set team goals, delegate tasks, follow up on progress, and report results.

Depending on the department focus, managers may lead the Guest Service Department, ensuring crew members and managers deliver outstanding customer experiences. These managers oversee sales promotions, training in service procedures, and organize key areas such as the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru. Kitchen Department Managers guarantee the delivery of high-quality, safe food while controlling food costs and training kitchen staff on production procedures and new menu items. People Department Managers focus on hiring qualified crew, training them effectively, and scheduling staff to meet sales and profit objectives. They foster a positive work environment by motivating and recognizing crew members throughout their employment.

This role is ideal for positive team players who thrive in a famously fast-paced setting and who enjoy working with energy and purpose. Flexibility in scheduling and a passion for customer service and team leadership are key. Candidates must be 18 years or older to be considered for managerial positions in McDonald's corporate-owned restaurants.

This position not only offers competitive pay but also a comprehensive benefits package. Department Managers at corporate-owned stores are eligible for 15-25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, anniversary bonuses, and an eight-week sabbatical every 10 years. Additionally, they have access to educational support through Archways to Opportunity — including opportunities to earn a high school degree, college tuition assistance, and English classes as a second language. Benefits also include medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, short- and long-term disability insurance, life and accident insurance, paid leaves of absence, service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program.

The role offers more than a job; it provides a career pathway where employees can develop leadership skills, pursue education, and build a future with a well-known brand that values its people. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply and take a step toward a rewarding and fulfilling work experience with opportunities for growth and advancement within the franchised McDonald's system.
