Job Description

This job opportunity is with a McDonald’s restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, separate from McDonald’s USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products to run the restaurant, but it operates as a distinct company responsible for all employment aspects including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA does not influence any employment decisions or processes related to this position. This creates a unique work environment where you get to be part of a globally recognized brand while working directly for a local employer dedicated to excellence in service and community engagement.

The role is for a Department Manager at this independent McDonald’s franchise. This position combines dynamic leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities in one of the world’s most iconic fast-food environments. The Department Manager is essential in ensuring fast, accurate, and friendly customer service, overseeing team performance, and driving business success. Managers have the possibility of leading specific departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People, each with specialized responsibilities.

The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on delivering a superior customer experience by training staff on service procedures, managing the front counter, McCafe, and drive-thru operations, and ensuring promotional sales efforts are effectively executed. The Kitchen Department Manager is responsible for food quality, safety, production procedures, food cost control, and training for all kitchen personnel. The People Department Manager leads hiring, training, scheduling, motivation, and recognition of crew members aligning with restaurant sales and profit goals.

This is a career-building role that offers flexible hours, opportunities for advancement, comprehensive job training, and possible college tuition assistance. Managers have the chance to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced environment that values teamwork, energy, and purposeful work. You will be part of a team committed to providing high-quality food and memorable customer moments every day. Compensation is competitive with wages ranging from $19 to $22 per hour, and the position includes benefits such as paid vacation after one year, medical, dental, vision coverage options, a monthly bonus program, free meals and uniforms during work hours, and flexible scheduling.

Ideal candidates are positive team players with previous managerial experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality settings. Being 18 years or older is a requirement for this role. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy coaching and motivating teams, and want a rewarding career with clear advancement paths, this position could be an excellent match. The company values individuals who want to grow, build their skills, and pursue their education while working. As a franchise-operated restaurant, you have a unique opportunity to influence local business decisions directly while benefiting from the reach and reputation of McDonald’s.
