Job Description

This job posting is for a position at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. This franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products, running the restaurant independently. While the restaurant operates under the McDonald’s brand, the franchisee is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. All employment decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are handled solely by the franchisee entity, which means McDonald’s USA has no influence or control over these matters. If hired, the franchisee will be your employer, not McDonald’s USA, and all employment applications and decisions are managed exclusively by the franchisee.

The position is a Department Manager role in a fast-paced, renowned global quick-service restaurant known for serving delicious food and creating feel-good moments for customers. This role offers competitive pay starting at $22 per hour and flexible scheduling to balance your work and life needs. As a Department Manager, you can expect to lead shifts weekly, ensuring guests receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every visit. You may also take on departmental leadership responsibilities such as overseeing training, food safety, inventory management, and setting goals for your team. Delegation, coaching, and follow-up will be key components to reporting results and maintaining operational excellence.

Different departmental focuses include Guest Service, Kitchen, and People departments, each with distinct responsibilities. The Guest Service Department Manager ensures crew and managers deliver superior customer experiences, effective sales promotions, and organized service areas such as the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru. The Kitchen Department Manager focuses on food quality, speed of service, food safety, controlling costs, and training kitchen staff on production procedures and new menu items. The People Department Manager is responsible for hiring qualified crew, training them, scheduling effectively to meet restaurant sales and profit goals, and motivating crew members throughout their tenure.

This role is a great fit for a positive team player with a flexible schedule who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a passion for service excellence. Previous managerial experience, ideally in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments, is preferred. Candidates must be 18 years or older to qualify for a managerial position at corporate-owned and operated McDonald’s restaurants.

The company supports employee growth and success by offering extensive benefits and opportunities for advancement. Employees receive training and valuable job skills development, college tuition assistance through programs like Archways to Opportunity, and retirement benefits. Additional perks include paid vacations, paid holidays, sabbaticals every 10 years, health coverage (medical, dental, and vision), flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance options, paid leaves of absence, service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a fulfilling career with a reputable and growing company that prioritizes employee well-being and professional growth.
