Job Description
The restaurant is part of a McDonald's franchise that is independently owned and operated by a franchisee separate from McDonald's USA. This franchisee owns the license to use McDonald's logos and food products but operates as a distinct company and employer. Therefore, all employment matters including hiring, firing, staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions are exclusively managed by this franchisee without any involvement from McDonald's USA. The opportunity to join this restaurant means becoming an integral part of a team dedicated to serving delicious food and providing outstanding customer experiences in a famously fast-paced environment.
This job opening is for a Department Manager position within the restaurant. Department Managers play a vital leadership role by guiding shifts, ensuring that every customer receives a fast, accurate, and friendly experience each visit. Depending on the department assigned—Guest Service, Kitchen, or People—managers oversee critical operational areas. Guest Service Managers assure the delivery of excellent customer service, proper training of the service staff, and smooth operation of the front counter, McCafe, and drive-thru areas. Kitchen Managers focus on food quality, food safety, controlling food costs, and kitchen staff production training. People Managers concentrate on recruiting qualified crew members, providing thorough training, scheduling, and maintaining team motivation and recognition.
The role calls for energetic, positive team players who enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and who are committed to leading and coaching teams effectively. Previous managerial experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment is preferred. Managers must be at least 18 years of age. This position offers significant career growth potential, access to college tuition assistance through the Archways to Opportunity program, valuable job training, and retirement benefits. The restaurant fosters an inclusive culture with a mission to cultivate leaders and promote personal and professional development.
Working as a Department Manager here is more than just managing daily operations—it involves contributing to a thriving business, helping the team succeed, and crafting memorable experiences for customers. The franchise provides a supportive work environment where skills can be honed and leadership qualities are nurtured. This role requires a hands-on approach, managing systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up on progress, and reporting results. It is perfect for individuals seeking leadership roles with a flexible schedule who want to grow within the hospitality industry while enjoying competitive pay and excellent benefits.
In addition to rewarding work, Department Managers are eligible for an impressive suite of benefits including paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, employee resource connections, and a 401k plan after one year of employment. There are also bonuses available up to $4,800 annually and educational opportunities to earn a high school diploma, college tuition assistance, and English as a second language classes. This role promises a comprehensive experience that balances professional growth with personal well-being, making it an ideal career move for motivated individuals ready to make their mark in the restaurant industry.
