Job Description

This job opportunity is with an independently owned and operated McDonald's franchise, distinctly separate from McDonald's USA. While the franchisee is licensed to use McDonald's trademarks and food products, all employment matters, ranging from hiring and staffing to discipline and scheduling, are solely handled by the franchisee. This means that those hired will be employed by the franchise company, not McDonald's USA, emphasizing a localized, community-oriented employment experience within the world-renowned McDonald's brand framework.

The franchise operates in the fast-paced, customer-focused restaurant industry, specifically within the quick service segment that McDonald's typifies globally. This restaurant prioritizes delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service, drawing on the proven McDonald’s systems and operational standards. Employment here offers the unique blend of working with an internationally recognized brand at a locally driven business, fostering both professional growth and community connection.

The position available is for a Department Manager within the restaurant. This leadership role is crucial for the smooth operation of daily shifts and plays a significant part in upholding McDonald's commitment to guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and food safety. Department Managers not only lead shifts by ensuring a fast, friendly, and accurate customer experience but also may oversee dedicated areas such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People management depending on the specific assignment.

Guest Service Department Managers ensure the customer-facing part of the restaurant, including McCafé and Drive-Thru, operate with efficiency and outstanding service quality. Kitchen Department Managers focus on food quality, safety, and cost controls while overseeing kitchen staff training and production standards. People Department Managers handle recruitment, training, staff scheduling, motivation, and recognitions, directly influencing employee engagement and retention.

Preferred candidates are individuals with prior managerial experience, ideally in restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors, who are enthusiastic, team-oriented, and ready to work within McDonald's famously fast-paced environment. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for the management position.

In addition to competitive compensation, the franchise offers rich benefits designed to support career growth, education, health, and work-life balance. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, tuition assistance through McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity, flexible spending accounts, and various insurance options. Furthermore, employees enjoy recognition programs, paid leaves of absence, adoption assistance, and opportunities for personal and professional development.

This role is ideal for those looking to advance their career in the restaurant industry while enjoying the stability and benefits of a supportive employer tied to a globally recognizable brand. It is part of a larger system that encourages employees to pursue their educational goals, build professional skills, and grow within the company. Department Managers will play a pivotal role in creating a positive workplace culture, promoting teamwork, and ensuring customer experiences that keep guests returning.

Overall, this position presents a promising opportunity for motivated individuals who want to lead, inspire a team, and contribute to the success of a local McDonald's restaurant franchised operation. It facilitates career development in a dynamic industry and a chance to be part of a renowned brand with an emphasis on guest service and operational excellence.
