Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a restaurant franchisee that independently owns and operates a McDonald's location using the McDonald's trademark and menu offerings under a licensing agreement. This means that although the restaurant functions as part of the iconic McDonald's brand, it is owned by a separate company and employer from McDonald's USA. Employment decisions, including hiring, firing, discipline, and scheduling, are solely the responsibility of the franchise owner, ensuring local management oversight and community-focused staffing.
McDonald's is renowned worldwide as a leading fast-food restaurant that serves millions of customers daily with high-quality, consistent food and excellent customer service. This franchise operates within that framework, drawing on McDonald's strong brand reputation combined with localized business autonomy to deliver a fast-paced, customer-centric dining experience.
The position available is for a Department Manager role. Department Managers at this McDonald's restaurant play a critical role in leading shift operations, ensuring guests receive fast, accurate, and friendly service on every visit. Depending on specialization, managers may oversee key restaurant systems such as Training, Food Safety, or Inventory Management. These leaders set goals, assign tasks, track progress, and report outcomes to both their teams and store leadership.
Specific Department Manager roles include:
- Guest Service Department Manager: Ensures Crew and Managers deliver exceptional customer experiences, execute sales promotions effectively, train all service staff on excellent service procedures, and maintain an organized Front Counter, McCafe, and Drive-Thru area for smooth operations.
- Kitchen Department Manager: Ensures the timely preparation of high-quality food, enforces rigorous food safety standards, manages food cost controls, and trains kitchen staff on all production procedures including new menu items.
- People Department Manager: Focuses on recruiting qualified team members, providing solid training, and creating efficient schedules that align with sales and profit goals. This manager also motivates staff and recognizes achievements to foster a positive workplace culture.
This role offers flexible scheduling options suited to your lifestyle, opportunities for career advancement, and the ability to pursue further education while working. McDonald's commitment to employee development through programs like Archways to Opportunity supports tuition assistance and professional growth.
Ideal candidates bring prior experience in management, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments. Positive attitudes, teamwork, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment are highly valued. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this leadership position.
Competitive compensation is a part of this role, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The benefits package includes paid vacation ranging from 15 to 25 days, paid holidays, sabbatical leave after ten years of service, and anniversary bonuses. Employees can also take advantage of medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as flexible spending accounts for pre-tax savings.
Additional benefits supporting work-life balance and long-term security include short- and long-term disability insurance, life and accident coverage, paid leaves of absence, service awards, and employee support programs such as Employee Resource Connection and Adoption Assistance. A matching gifts program is also available to encourage community involvement and charitable giving.
Working in this role means joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering great food and feel-good moments to customers every day, with plenty of opportunities to grow personally and professionally within the McDonald's system. This is your chance to build a satisfying career with meaningful benefits and real possibilities to advance.
