Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by an independently owned and operated McDonald's restaurant franchisee. Unlike positions directly under McDonald's USA, this franchisee operates as a separate company that holds a license to use McDonald's branding, logos, and food products. This autonomy means the franchisee is solely responsible for all employment-related decisions including hiring, firing, staffing, scheduling, disciplinary actions, and supervision of employees. McDonald's USA has no control or involvement in these operations, and your employment application and related information will only be submitted to the franchisee, not to McDonald's USA.
The restaurant provides a vibrant work environment that reflects the well-known McDonald's standards of service and food quality while being locally managed and operated. The independent franchisee values motivated individuals who want not only a job but a career with advancement opportunities, skill-building, and flexible schedules. This position is ideal for those who want a satisfying role that encourages personal growth and development while contributing to a team dedicated to delivering great customer experiences.
The role of Department Manager at this McDonald's franchise is an exciting leadership position with competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $19.00 per hour, dependent upon experience and availability. As a Department Manager, you will lead by example and play a critical role in managing shifts to ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every visit. Additionally, managers may oversee entire departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People, each with specific responsibilities that contribute to the restaurant's overall success.
Guest Service Department Managers focus on enhancing the customer experience by ensuring the front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru areas operate smoothly and promoting sales initiatives. Kitchen Department Managers prioritize food quality, safety, and production efficiency while controlling food costs. People Department Managers are tasked with recruitment, training, scheduling, and maintaining team motivation and recognition to meet sales and profitability goals.
This managerial role requires previous leadership experience preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify as managers within corporate-operated McDonald's restaurants. The right manager is a positive team player who thrives in the fast-paced environment that McDonald's is famously known for and who is flexible with scheduling and passionate about leading a team toward achieving excellence.
The position offers a range of valuable benefits. Employees have access to paid time off including sick and safe leave, paid vacations, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, and bonuses that reward excellent performance. There are also opportunities for education through the Archways to Opportunity program, which provides pathways to earn a high school degree, college tuition assistance, and ESL classes for English learners. Free employee meals and uniforms add to the perks along with flexible work schedules and clear opportunities for career advancement within the franchise. This position is much more than just a job - it’s a chance to build your future and grow your career in a supportive environment that values your potential and hard work.
By applying for this position, you'll join a team where your efforts are recognized and your growth is supported by valuable training and advancement opportunities. If you want to work where your energy, passion, and leadership skills are valued, and where you can enjoy a rewarding career with great benefits, this Department Manager role at a McDonald's independently owned franchise is an excellent fit.
