This job posting is for a managerial position within a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald’s brand, logos, and food products. It is important to note that this franchisee is a completely separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA, with sole responsibility for all employment practices including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA does not have any control or involvement in employment decisions at this location. The franchisee restaurant operates under the McDonald’s brand, offering the same beloved menu and quality standards. However, the day-to-day management and operations are independently controlled by the franchisee. If hired, you will be employed directly by the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. This distinction means all employment-related matters including interviews, hiring decisions, and other staffing practices are handled exclusively by the franchisee.

The role itself is a Department Manager position with opportunities to advance. Department Managers are responsible for leading shifts and ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience with each visit. Depending on your specific assignment, you could lead key restaurant departments including Guest Service, Kitchen, or People departments. Each department leader’s duties include managing assigned systems such as training, food safety, inventory control, or staffing procedures, setting goals for their team’s performance, delegating tasks effectively, and following up on progress. Reporting outcomes and collaborating with other managers are key components of the position.

In the Guest Service department, the manager ensures excellent customer engagement, efficient sales promotions, well-trained service staff, and orderly front counter, McCafe, and drive-thru sections. For the Kitchen department, the responsibility includes maintaining high food quality and safety, controlling food costs, and training all kitchen personnel on procedures and new menu items. The People department manager focuses on recruiting qualified crew, delivering effective training, scheduling for operational success, and motivating employees through recognition and positive reinforcement.

This position favors candidates with previous managerial experience, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality settings. Positive team players with flexible schedules and a passion to thrive in a famously fast-paced environment will do well. You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible to work as a manager in corporate-owned McDonald’s stores.
