Job Description

This job opportunity is with an independently owned and operated McDonald's franchise, separate from McDonald's USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald's logos, branding, and food products but operates as a distinct business entity. Employment matters, including hiring, firing, supervision, staffing, and scheduling, are managed solely by the franchisee. McDonald's USA has no involvement or control over employment decisions or personnel management at this restaurant. This distinction means that if you are hired, your employer will be the franchisee and not McDonald's USA.

McDonald's is a globally recognized brand known for its fast service, consistent quality, and inviting customer experience. This particular franchise offers a dynamic working environment where team members are encouraged to grow, learn, and advance within the organization. The role available is a Department Manager position within the restaurant, offering a leadership opportunity in a fast-paced and rewarding food service environment.

As a Department Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service during every visit. Your leadership responsibilities vary depending on the specific department you manage—Guest Service, Kitchen, or People. The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on customer experience, sales promotions, and maintaining an organized and efficient front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru area. The Kitchen Department Manager ensures food quality and safety, controls food costs, and trains kitchen staff on production procedures and new menu items. The People Department Manager leads hiring initiatives, training, scheduling, and maintaining motivation and recognition for team members.

This role is designed for proactive individuals who want a satisfying career with excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement. Managers are empowered to choose their own hours, pursue education, build skills, and be authentic in their work. The culture promotes teamwork, energy, leadership development, and business ownership mindset, all while delivering delicious food and feel-good moments to customers.

McDonald's franchise offers more than just a job; it provides a pathway toward career growth supported by college tuition assistance, valuable job training, and retirement benefits. It emphasizes creating an inclusive environment where employees can say yes to professional and personal development. The franchise appreciates positive team players who thrive in the fast-paced restaurant and hospitality industry and enjoy working with flexible schedules.

Additional benefits that come with the Department Manager position include 15-25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, an anniversary splash, and an 8-week sabbatical every 10 years. Employees have access to educational programs through the Archways to Opportunity initiative, including opportunities to earn a high school diploma, college tuition assistance, and English as a second language courses. Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage is available along with pre-tax flexible spending accounts. Short- and long-term disability, life and accident insurance, paid leaves of absence, service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and matching gifts programs round out a comprehensive benefits package.
