Job Description

McDonald’s is one of the largest and most recognized fast-food restaurant chains globally, known for its commitment to serving delicious food quickly and consistently. As a company, McDonald’s focuses on creating a positive work environment where employees can grow and thrive while delivering excellent customer service. With a rich history of innovation and community involvement, McDonald’s continues to set the standard in the fast-food industry by investing in employee development, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This opportunity is with an independent franchisee that operates McDonald’s restaurants, which means that while the brand is globally recognized, the employer is a separate and independent company responsible for employment decisions, culture, and day-to-day operations at the restaurant location. Joining McDonald’s means becoming part of a team dedicated to providing feel-good moments for customers while fostering a workplace culture that values growth, teamwork, and leadership.

This role is for a Department Manager position within a McDonald’s restaurant. Department Managers at McDonald’s are key leaders who oversee specific areas such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People (HR). They play a vital role in ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably by managing their department's operations, training staff, and delivering outstanding customer service. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and the chance to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment that encourages leadership development. Managers are expected to lead shifts weekly, ensuring customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service during every visit. Department Managers may also have additional responsibilities like managing training programs, food safety compliance, inventory control, and team motivation.

This career path provides opportunities for advancement and growth supported by valuable job training and educational benefits such as college tuition assistance via Archways to Opportunity. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about leadership, teamwork, and making a visible impact every day in a dynamic food service environment. The position requires an individual who is adaptable, positive, and eager to contribute to a team that enjoys working with energy and purpose. Being at least 18 years of age is a requirement for this role to ensure compliance with labor regulations. The job exists within an upbeat, customer-focused workspace where the goal is to deliver high-quality food and excellent service consistently. Managers also have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and help shape a strong team culture that supports employee development and retention.

The benefits available to a Department Manager include paid vacation, medical coverage based on eligibility, educational programs, service awards, meal benefits, and access to employee resource connections. These benefits aim to support a work-life balance and encourage continuous learning and career growth. Overall, the Department Manager role is a multifaceted leadership position that requires operational oversight, people management, and a commitment to excellence, all within the well-known McDonald’s brand environment operated by a dedicated franchisee. If you are ready to take your career further and enjoy a fulfilling leadership role with competitive pay and excellent benefits, this is the opportunity for you.
