Job Description

This job opportunity is at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use McDonald’s logos and food products. This franchisee is entirely separate from McDonald’s USA, meaning that if you are hired, your employer will be the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee alone manages all employment decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA does not interfere in any employment matters at this restaurant and does not receive copies of employment applications or participate in hiring decisions. This distinction is important as it reflects the direct relationship you will have with the franchisee company running the restaurant.

The restaurant operates within the famous McDonald’s brand, known worldwide for serving fast, quality food in a friendly and efficient environment. As part of a team at this franchise-operated McDonald’s location, you will benefit from a dynamic work environment that values energy, purpose, and growth. Whether you are just starting your career or are an experienced manager, the role offers opportunities to build your skills, receive quality training, and develop leadership capabilities. The work culture encourages you to be yourself while pursuing your education and managing a flexible schedule that suits your lifestyle.

The position available is for a Department Manager who will lead shifts weekly to ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every visit. Depending on the department managed, duties vary from overseeing kitchen operations, guest services, to employee management. Department Managers may take charge of specific systems such as Training, Food Safety, Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting to other managers. For example, a Kitchen Department Manager ensures food quality, safety, cost control, and proper staff training on new menu items. A Guest Service Department Manager focuses on customer experience, service training, and maintaining organized service areas like the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru. Meanwhile, a People Department Manager handles crew hiring, training, scheduling, motivation, and aligns staffing with sales and profit goals.

Ideal candidates possess previous managerial experience, preferably within restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries. Flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude are crucial to thriving in the fast-paced environment famous to McDonald’s. Candidates must be 18 years or older to be eligible for managerial roles in corporate-owned and operated restaurants. The role is well-suited to leaders passionate about connecting with customers, coaching teams, and driving operational success.

This opportunity offers competitive pay along with exceptional benefits, including 15 to 25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, an 8-week sabbatical every ten years, and anniversary splash bonuses. Education benefits through the Archways to Opportunity program provide support for earning a high school degree, college tuition assistance, and English language courses. The package also includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance options, paid leaves of absence, service awards, an Employee Resource Connection, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program.

Working at this McDonald’s franchise-operated restaurant means joining a team focused on delivering delicious food and feel-good moments while growing your career. You will be part of a supportive community that values continuous learning and personal advancement. If you enjoy working in an energetic, team-oriented, and fast-moving environment, this role will inspire your best work and help you move forward professionally. Make your move now and explore an exciting career path with ample training, leadership development, and valuable employee benefits.
