Job Description
This job opportunity is with a locally owned and operated restaurant franchise that is independently managed by a franchisee licensed to use McDonald's brand, logos, and food products. Although associated with the globally recognized McDonald's brand, this restaurant operates as a separate establishment with its own management and employment policies, distinct from McDonald's USA. The franchisee independently handles all hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling decisions. McDonald's USA has no involvement in the employment process, and all employment applications and decisions are managed solely by the franchise owner. This ensures that employees work directly under the franchisee's guidance and receive all employment-related communication and decisions from them alone.
The company is dedicated to creating an inspiring work environment where employees can grow and pursue their career goals while maintaining flexibility with work hours and educational opportunities. This restaurant offers a career path that emphasizes personal development, leadership growth, and skill building in a vibrant, fast-paced atmosphere commonly associated with the McDonald's dining experience. Team members are encouraged to be authentic, energetic, and purpose-driven, contributing to a workplace culture that values positive attitudes, collaboration, and ongoing learning.
The position available is for a Department Manager, a vital leadership role central to the restaurant's daily operations and long-term success. Department Managers are responsible for overseeing shifts and ensuring customers receive quick, accurate, and friendly service during each visit. Beyond shift leadership, certain managers may be assigned to lead specific departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People Management. Each department leader has specialized responsibilities, including training, food safety, inventory control, team goal setting, task delegation, and communication with other managers.
Guest Service Managers focus on delivering excellent customer experiences, managing sales promotions, training service teams, and ensuring that front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru services are well-organized for optimal efficiency. Kitchen Managers oversee food quality, safety, preparation speed, and cost control, along with staff training on production standards and new menu item rollouts. People Department Managers concentrate on recruitment, crew training, scheduling aligned with sales and profitability targets, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance and satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will bring prior managerial experience, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality sectors. The role demands flexibility, a passion for fast-paced environments, and a team-oriented mindset. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this position.
This role offers more than just a job; it offers meaningful benefits including competitive pay, up to 25 days of paid vacation, paid holidays, sabbatical options, and educational assistance programs like the Archways to Opportunity initiative that supports high school completion, college tuition, and English language learning. Additional perks include medical, dental, and vision plans, disability coverage, life and accident insurance, paid leaves, employee recognition programs, adoption assistance, and philanthropic matching gift schemes.
Through this role, employees gain access to a wealth of resources to support career advancement and personal well-being, within an international brand's fast-food framework but with the personal touch of an independent franchise owner. This balance provides employees a stable career foundation with tangible growth and learning prospects in a supportive, community-driven workplace. Prospective applicants should understand that their employment relationship is directly with the franchise owner and not McDonald's USA, emphasizing transparency in hiring practices and employee management.
