The Dental Receptionist position is a full-time role based in Milwaukee, offering a structured work schedule with hours from Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday, Thursday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Reporting directly to the Dental Center Manager, the receptionist will play a crucial role in supporting the dental office by managing patient interactions and performing essential clerical duties. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of handling a variety of administrative tasks involving patient contact, office coordination, and collaboration with dental health professionals including dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
In this position, the Dental Receptionist is the frontline representative of the dental health services at Wisconsin Health Fund. Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and maintaining accurate patient records using Dentrix software. The receptionist will also manage office communications through phone and email, which involves directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel. This role demands proficiency in computer usage and the capability to operate standard office equipment efficiently. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in dental office or related clerical work preferred
- Ability to use Dentrix software or similar dental management systems is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain organizational skills
- Customer service oriented
- Reliability and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Dental assisting experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Greeting patients at the front desk, registering them for appointments, verifying current address and phone numbers and announcing their arrival
- Assembling new patient charts and label accordingly
- Cancel, schedule and reschedule dental appointments as needed
- Check insurance eligibility of patients
- Maintain computer skills as to be able to perform functions using the Dentrix software
- Maintain skills to operate all office equipment necessary for the completion of tasks assigned
- Handle correspondence between referring offices and check office email
- Answer telephone and forward calls to appropriate staff
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures such as unlocking front doors, unlocking file cabinets, turning on front desk computers, suction system, copier, etc
- Balance cash register and payment log sheet
- Re-credential dentists as required by insurance companies
- Attend and participate in required meetings, training and educational programs
- Performs other related works as assigned
