This position requires a dynamic individual who demonstrates urgency in meeting service cycle timing standards and possesses a thorough knowledge of the menu and promotions to suggestively sell items when appropriate. The Host / Hostess must handle a variety of tasks including seating guests at clean tables, maintaining waiting lists, taking initial beverage orders, and ensuring that all areas of the foyer and dining area are clean and inviting. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with team members, assisting where needed without prompting, and performing side work such as deep cleaning assignments.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, and be able to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift, lift and carry supplies up to 30 pounds, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching. Attention to detail, dependability, and adherence to Denny’s uniform and grooming standards are also important.
