Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs
  • ability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height
  • able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab
  • sufficient mobility to move and operate in the work area
  • able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8 hour shift
  • able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needs
  • must meet any state, county or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
  • able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
  • able to serve all Denny's menu products

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Greet guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them at departure
  • assist with seating guests using proper rotation procedures and accommodate special needs
  • suggestively sell menu items to meet guest check average targets
  • accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system
  • prepare beverage orders and some appetizers, salads, and desserts
  • check prepared orders for completeness and presentation
  • deliver food and beverages timely following restaurant standards
  • attend to guests promptly and courteously throughout the dining experience
  • pre-bus, clear, clean, and preset tables efficiently
  • address guest complaints and requests politely and notify supervisors of issues
  • demonstrate safe cash handling and complete transactions accurately
  • assist other team members proactively
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining and service areas
  • complete assigned side work and deep cleaning tasks
  • adhere to Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies and procedures
