The role in question is a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary category. As a member of The Ritz-Carlton culinary team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the meticulous preparation of special meals and daily menu items, adhering strictly to established recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation guidelines, and safety standards. You will regulate cooking temperatures, manage the thawing of frozen food products, and carefully monitor portion sizes and food distribution to maintain consistency and satisfaction. An essential part of your duties will involve the careful recording and tracking of food inventory, ensuring optimal use of ingredients and minimizing waste.
Besides food preparation, you will play a vital role in communicating with both the kitchen leadership and the Food and Beverage service team. Informing your supervisors about surplus products, available daily specials, and any rejected items ensures fluid coordination across departments, enabling prompt adjustments to menus and service offerings.
While this is a non-management role, you will also assist the management team with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, and motivating team members, leading by example through performance and professionalism. Compliance with all company and workplace safety policies is mandatory, including reporting accidents and unsafe conditions. You will attend necessary training sessions and obtain relevant safety certifications to fulfill these obligations.
